Overview
The Meruti Gudda Trek is one of the most beautiful and lesser-known treks in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, located in the scenic Chikmagalur district. Standing tall at around 5,200 ft, this trek is a paradise for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The trail takes you through dense shola forests, rolling grasslands, and sparkling streams, leading up to a summit that offers 360° panoramic views of the Kudremukh ranges, Ettina Bhuja, Jenukal Gudda, and mist-clad valleys. On a clear day, the endless greenery of the Western Ghats looks absolutely magical. With a trekking distance of about 12 km (both ways), Meruti Gudda is rated as moderate, making it suitable for beginners with basic fitness and equally rewarding for experienced trekkers.

Itinerary
Journey to Meruti Gudda Base Camp
- •Pickup starts from designated points in Bangalore
- •Begin overnight journey to Sakleshpur in a comfortable TT/minibus
Day 1: Trek to Meruti Gudda Peak
- •Reach the homestay, freshen up, and have breakfast.
- •Pack your small day backpack with essentials & packed lunch, then head towards the trek starting point.
- •Complete the permit formalities at the forest office and begin the trek through dense shola forests, streams, and rolling grasslands
- •Reach the summit of Meruti Gudda and soak in breathtaking 360° views of the Western Ghats, including Kudremukh ranges, Kyatanmakki hills, Horanadu town and endless valleys.
- •Enjoy your packed lunch at the summit and descend back to the base by evening
- •Enjoy evening snacks, group activities, campfire, and dinner. Overnight stay at the homestay.
Day 2: Return Journey with Sightseeing
- •06:30 AM: Wake up, freshen up, and enjoy breakfast.
- •08:00 AM: Check-out from the homestay.
- •Visit Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple, Sooramane Waterfalls, and Belur Temple en route.
- •Around 10:30 PM, reach Bangalore with unforgettable memories of the Ettina Bhuja Trek.

Participant Cancellation Policy
- 100% Refund: Cancellations 30+ days before departure (excluding convenience/transaction fees).
- 50% Refund: Cancellations 15-29 days before departure.
- No Refund, Future Credit, or Transfer: Cancellations 14 days or less before departure.
goChaarana Cancellation Policy
- If goChaarana cancels a trek due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule to another trek of their choice.
Rescheduling Option
- You can reschedule your booking to a future trek without any additional cost, subject to availability. This option is available if you request the change at least three days before your original trek date.
Important Notes
- Refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days.
- Trek fees are non-transferable to another participant.
- No refund will be provided for a no-show or dropping out mid-trek.
