The Kaiwara Betta Trek, also known as Bheemalingeshwara Betta, is a scenic and spiritual trek near Bangalore, located in Kaiwara, Chikkaballapur district (about 70 km from Bangalore and 35 km from Chikkaballapur town). This short yet rewarding trek is a great choice for beginners, families, and trekkers looking for a peaceful weekend escape close to nature. Rising to an altitude of around 2,940 ft, the trek is relatively easy, covering about 3-4 km (to and fro) and can be completed in 2-3 hours. The trail includes rock-cut steps, small caves, and rugged patches, leading up to the Bheemalingeshwara Temple at the summit. The highlight of the Kaiwara Betta trek is the panoramic view from the top, offering a stunning 360° landscape of rocky hills, green valleys, and farmlands stretching as far as the eye can see. Trekkers who start early in the morning are rewarded with breathtaking sunrise views, making it a popular spot for photography and peaceful meditation. Apart from trekking, there are plenty of things to do in Kaiwara. The town is known for its Amara Narayana Temple, Vaikunta caves, and the meditation site of Saint Kaiwara Thataiah, making this destination a blend of adventure, history, and spirituality.
