After some research, Makalidurga felt like the perfect choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing goChaarana\u2014A Leap of Trust<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While browsing Makalidurga trek options on <strong>BookMyShow<\/strong>, I came across <strong>goChaarana<\/strong>. Curious, I searched for them on Google and Instagram. A few minutes later, the trek lead called to inform us that the vehicle was on its way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within 15 minutes, the <strong>tempo traveler arrived<\/strong>, and after picking up everyone from different locations, we began our journey toward Makalidurga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were a <strong>small group of 12 trekkers<\/strong>, and the vibe felt warm and friendly from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ice-Breaker &amp; Briefing Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the journey, we stopped for a short <strong>tea break<\/strong>. The trek lead conducted an ice-breaking session where everyone introduced themselves and shared a few light moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trek captain made sure everyone felt comfortable, especially first-time trekkers. The positive energy within the group made the journey even more enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the briefing, we continued toward the base camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reaching the Base Camp<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Around <strong>4:00 AM<\/strong>, we reached the <strong>Makalidurga base camp<\/strong>. We rested for a while, freshened up, and prepared ourselves for the climb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>5:00 AM<\/strong>, just before sunrise, the trek lead gave us safety instructions, and we began our trek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Makalidurga Trek Trail Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Base Camp to Forest Checkpost<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The trek started in the parking area. After walking about <strong>200 meters<\/strong>, we crossed the <strong>railway track<\/strong>, which is one of the most unique highlights of this trek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon after, we reached the <strong>forest checkpost<\/strong>, where the forest officer verified our entry tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checkpost to First Viewpoint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the first 100 meters, we spotted the <strong>Muthurayaswamy Temple<\/strong> on the right. The trail ahead was muddy but simple to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the first deviation, we took the <strong>right trail toward Makalidurga<\/strong>, guided by arrow marks and paint markings on rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we climbed higher, the trail became rocky, with greenery on both sides. The cool breeze and soft morning light made the trek refreshing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon, the landscape opened up to reveal the stunning <strong>Gundamagere Lake<\/strong>, shaped like South America. We paused for a moment to admire the view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final climb to the first viewpoint involved a steep granite rock. Using natural boulders for support, everyone reached the top safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We rested here, clicked photos, enjoyed snacks, and watched the <strong>beautiful sunrise<\/strong> unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Viewpoint to Makalidurga Peak<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After a short break, we continued toward the summit. This section was slightly steeper, but the trek lead guided everyone patiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ancient <strong>fort walls<\/strong> welcomed us near the top, reminding us of Makalidurga\u2019s historical importance. From here, the panoramic views of rolling hills and the deep-blue Gundamagere Lake were breathtaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Makali Malleshwara Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, was a few steps ahead. There was a beautiful <strong>Nandi statue<\/strong> at the entrance. Surrounded by old fort ruins, the place felt peaceful and spiritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We spent some time exploring the fort, relaxing, and enjoying the calm atmosphere at the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Descent &amp; Return Journey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We descended using the same trail, following the clearly marked paint signs.
