Once everyone boarded the vehicle, the trek lead initiated a fun ice-breaking session<\/strong>. Introductions, laughter, and conversations slowly turned strangers into familiar faces. The overnight journey to Samse felt lively and warm\u2014setting the perfect tone for the trek ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Early morning, we reached the Balagal\u2013Kudremukh Base Camp<\/strong>. From there, the real fun began\u2014a jeep ride through rugged forest trails<\/strong>, bouncing like a roller coaster, surrounded by lush greenery and misty hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our homestay was tucked away in the middle of a coffee estate<\/strong>, calm and scenic. I was assigned a two-person sharing tent<\/strong>, which was my first-ever tent stay<\/strong>\u2014an exciting experience in itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After freshening up, we enjoyed a delicious local breakfast<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n We also received a packed lunch<\/strong> for the trek ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After a detailed briefing from a certified trek instructor at goChaarana<\/strong>, we began our trek around 8:30 AM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the forest checkpost, officials inspected our bags and ID cards<\/strong>. Plastic items are strictly prohibited\u2014and thanks to proper guidance from our trek lead, our group was fully compliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And with that\u2026 Kudremukh Peak, here we come!<\/strong> The first 4 km<\/strong> of the trek felt relatively easy and refreshing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Soon, we caught our first glimpse of Kudremukh Peak<\/strong>, and the excitement doubled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As we progressed, the ascent became steeper. After multiple breaks and some struggle, we reached Onti Mara (Lonely Tree)<\/strong>\u2014a famous viewpoint. A 30-minute break<\/strong>, countless photos, and stunning views made it totally worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From Onti Mara, some trekkers started feeling the fatigue, but our trek lead kept motivating us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Around 12:00 PM<\/strong>, we reached Vate Kadu<\/strong>, a point about 3 km before the summit<\/strong>. After resting and soaking in the panoramic views, we resumed the climb at 12:15 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ascent was steep and challenging\u2014but the views were unreal. Rolling green hills, clouds drifting below us, and that raw mountain energy made every step worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, at around 2:30 PM<\/strong>, we reached the Kudremukh Peak (1,892 m)<\/strong>! \ud83c\udf89 Just when we thought the hardest part was over, the weather changed suddenly<\/strong>. Heavy rain began pouring down. Though we had raincoats, the intensity caught us off guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The descent was<\/p>\n\n\n\n The trail wasn\u2019t rocky\u2014just slush. Extra caution was required, and a few trekkers slipped multiple times. I usually enjoy downhill treks and felt confident, but this one tested everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The \u201cKudremukh \u2013 5 km\u201d signboard<\/strong> felt endless. What took less time while ascending took us nearly 3 hours<\/strong> on the way down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As evening approached, it started getting dark, and the rain continued. I walked ahead alone for a while\u2014soaked, muddy, but strangely peaceful. Trekking in the rain has its own magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After about 20 minutes, I heard familiar voices\u2014a huge relief. We regrouped and pushed together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, around 7:00 PM<\/strong>, we reached the forest department office<\/strong>, the starting point of the trek.
